Built in the late 1960’s Kachina Lodge sits directly on the rim of the
Grand Canyon. For guests seeking a more contemporary lodging option,
Kachina lodge is a great choice. The lodge
rooms are designated canyon-side and street-side relating to the view.
Many guests choose Kachina due to its prominent location in the center
of the historic district. Kachina Lodge is also walking distance to
restaurants, gifts shops, Kolb Studio, Verkamp’s Visitor Center, and the
Bright Angel Trail Head. It’s a great choice for active guests as it
is located directly on the Rim Trail. This trail spans from Hermits Rest
to the Kaibab Trailhead, approximately 12.8 miles. From your room you
can hike in either direction. For example if you hike towards the west
to Trail View overlook it is about 1 mile or to the East to Yavapai Geology Museum it is approximately 2 miles. The views along this trail
are exceptional.
